st. <br />ON POTION BY COMMISSIONER l'!ODTKE, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE CHAIRMAN OR HIS AUTHORIZED <br />REPRESENTATIVE, COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, TO EXECUTE THE INTERLOCAL AGREE- <br />MENT CREATINE- TREASURE COAST REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL, <br />IN DISCUSSION IT WAS NOTED THAT THE ALTERNATES MUST BE EITHER <br />ELECTED OFFICIALS OR STAFF PERSONNEL, <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />%4ODTKE, THAT THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, WILLIARD <br />SIEBERT, JR, AND COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER SERVE AS OUR COUNTY'S OFFICIAL <br />REPRESENTATIVES TO THE TREASURE COAST REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL AND THAT <br />COUNTY PLANNER, VAL BRENNAN, SERVE AS THE CHAIRMAN'S ALTERNATE AND <br />ASSISTANT COUNTY PLANNER, ROBERT BERG, SERVE AS COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER'S <br />ALTERNATE, <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE NOTED THAT THE ELECTED OFFICIAL REQUIREMENT <br />COULD BECOME VERY DIFFICULT AND SUGGESTED WE BELABOR THE POINT ABOUT HAVING <br />A LAY PERSON INSTEAD, <br />VAL BRENNAN STATED THAT HE HAD NO OBJECTION TO THE MOTION, BUT <br />FROM AN ADMINISTRATIVE POINT OF VIEW HAVING BOTH HIMSELF AND MR, BERG OUT <br />OF THE OFFICE AT THE SAME TIME ATTENDING MEETINGS MIGHT NOT WORK OUT TOO <br />WELL, <br />COMMISSIONER LOY AGREED, BUT NOTED THAT THIS SITUATION WOULD <br />ARISE ONLY IN AN EMERGENCY, <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION, IT WAS VOTED ON AND <br />CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY, <br />MAYORS MILLER, CRAGG, SIMPSON, AND COUNCILMAN LYONS RETURNED <br />TO THE MEETING, MAYOR CRAGG INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE HAD BEEN SELECTED <br />BY THIS GROUP TO BE THE PARTICIPATING MEMBER WITH MAYOR HOMER SIMPSON <br />AS HIS ALTERNATE, <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, <br />THE BOARD ACCEPTED THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE OFFICIALS OF THE MUNICIPALITIES <br />THAT MAYOR F. EUGENE CRAGG OF SEBASTIAN SERVE AS A PARTICIPATING MEMBER OF <br />THE TREASURE COAST REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL AND MAYOR HOMER SIMPSON <br />SERVE AS HIS ALTERNATE, <br />
