` � I <br />7 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-_ <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE PRIMARY <br />CARE/PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE. <br />WHEREAS, issues concerning health and access to health care are important to <br />the every day lives of the citizens of Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Florida has recognized the importance <br />of Primary Care for Children and Families by enacting Florida Statutes Chapter 154 <br />Part V; and <br />WHEREAS, local governments are better equipped to identify the health care <br />needs of the children and families in their communities; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County is fortunate to have a strong group of <br />professionals and volunteers who work diligently to meet the health care needs of the <br />children and families of the County; and <br />WHEREAS, an important step in identifying and solving health care problems in <br />this community is the formation of an advisory committee to assist the Board of County <br />Commissioners concerning primary health care matters in Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognizes and expresses their <br />appreciation to the Indian River County Health Department, Gifford Health Center, IRC <br />Hospital District, Community Health Network, Visiting Nurse Association, Indian River <br />Memorial Hospital, Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition, Mental Health <br />Association, Sebastian River Medical Center, IRC Emergency Medical Service (EMS), <br />IRC Human Services and Fellsmere Medical Center for the diligent work done over the <br />past several years in coordinating efforts to provide health care services to children and <br />families in Indian River -County-, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. ESTABLISHMENT. <br />The Indian River County Primary Care/Public Health Advisory Committee is hereby <br />established. <br />2. MEMBERSHIP <br />The Primary Care/Public Health Advisory Committee shall have twenty one voting <br />members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, with one member from <br />each of the following areas: Indian River County Health Department, Gifford Health <br />Center, IRC Hospital District, Community Health Network, Visiting Nurse <br />F:\Attorney\Bill\Dictation\Committees\Primary Care adv comm reso.doc <br />
