D.O.T. AGREED TO CLEAR THIS OUT, BUT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL <br />REGULATION IS REQUIRING THEM TO GET A PERMIT. MR. THOMAS CONTINUED THAT <br />WE FEELS THE D.E.R. REALLY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING THIS <br />SITUATION AND SUGGESTED THAT THE CHAIRMAN BE AUTHORIZED TO WRITE THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES IN THIS REGARD. <br />AFTER FURTHER DISCUSSION IT WAS AGREED THAT ADMINISTRATOR <br />.JENNINGS WOULD WRITE SUCH A LETTER MAKING AN OFFICIAL REQUEST OF THE <br />D.E.R. TO TAKE CARE OF THIS SITUATION. <br />ADMINISTRATOR .JENNINGS DISCUSSED A REQUEST FROM D.O.T. THAT <br />THAT COUNTY TAKE OVER THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SECONDARY ROAD MAINTENANCE <br />AND SUGGESTED THAT HE BE AUTHORIZED TO FIND OUT EXACTLY WHAT IS <br />REQUIRED AND INVOLVED AND REPORT BACK ON IT. THE ADMINISTRATOR STATED <br />IT'WAS HIS FEELING THAT PERHAPS THE COUNTY SHOULD TAKE THIS OVER AS HE <br />BELIEVED WE COULD HANDLE IT WITH A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF EQUIPMENT AND WE THEN <br />WOULD HAVE A MORE DIRECT CONTROL OF THE MONEY SPENT ON THE ROADS. HE <br />POINTED.OUT THAT WE HAVE BEEN CONTRACTING WITH THE D.O.T. FOR THIS FOR MANY <br />YEARS AND ARE ONE OF THE FEW DISTRICTS THAT DOESN'T MAIPtfAIN THEIR OWN ROADS. <br />THE BOARD AGREED THAT THE ADMINISTRATOR SHOULD CHECK ON <br />THIS MATTER AND REPORT BACK. <br />COUNTY PLANNER BRENNAN STATED THAT HE NEEDED APPROVAL TO <br />ATTEND A MEETING OF THE FLORIDA INSTITUTE OF PLANNERS IN TAMPA. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER WODTKE, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY,THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED OUT -OF -COUNTY TRAVEL FOR COUNTY <br />PLANNER BRENNAN TO ATTEND A MEETING OF THE FLORIDA INSTITUTE OF PLANNERS <br />IN TAMPA ON SEPTEMBER 11, 1976. <br />MR. BRENNAN NEXT REPORTED THAT THE COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT <br />COMMITTEE HAS MET AND ACCEPTED THE REPORT PREPARED BY ADLEY ASSOCIATES <br />INC. THIS REPORT HAS BEEN REVIEWED BY DICK WELLS, PROJECT DIRECTOR OF <br />THE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL, WHO CONSIDERS IT A <br />GOOD REPORT. MR. BRENNAN CONTINUED THAT THE CONSULTANT HAS MET ALL THEIR <br />COMMITMENTS, AND THE COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE TOOK ACTION TO <br />RECOMMEND THAT THE FINAL BILL OF ADLEY ASSOCIATES, INC., IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $5,200 LESS PAYMENT OF $520.00 MADE•IN .JULY, BE PAID. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY.COMMISSIONER <br />c <br />Loy, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE PAYMENT OF THE FINAL BILL OF <br />ADLEY ASSOCIATES, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,650.00. <br />VAL BRENNAN INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE FINAL STEP IN REGARD <br />44 <br />i <br />0000. 6.. 26 335 <br />=a� . <br />
