INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATOR THOMAS ALSO HADA REQUEST FOR <br />OUT -OF -COUNTY TRAVEL. <br />'ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER WODTKE, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER Loy, <br />THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED OUT -OF -COUNTY TRAVEL FOR INTERGOVERNMENTAL <br />COORDINATOR THOMAS TO ATTEND THE ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING OF COUNTY <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATORS AT DAYTONA BEACH, OCTOBER 21-23, 1976. <br />VAL BRENNAN, COUNTY PLANNER, APPEARED TO REVIEW WITH THE BOARD <br />THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN TREASURE COAST REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL AND EAST <br />CENTRAL FLORIDA REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL COVERING TRANSITION PROCEDURES. <br />HE INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THIS AGREEMENT HAS BEEN APPROVED BY BOTH <br />PLANNING COUNCILS. <br />IN DISCUSSION IT WAS POINTED OUT THAT IT DOES NOT COVER <br />DEVELOPMENTS OF REGIONAL IMPACT, BUT DOES'COVER PROJECT REVIEWS AND <br />REQUESTS FOR FEDERAL FUNDS. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY NOTED THAT WE WILL STAY WITH THE EAST CENTRAL <br />FLORIDA REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL DURING THE NEXT YEAR UNTIL TREASURE <br />COAST REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL HAS SET UP AN ADEQUATE STAFF. SHE FURTHER <br />NOTED THAT WE HAVE BEEN CLOSELY ALIGNED WITH BREVARD COUNTY OVER THE LAST <br />YEARS AND ONLY HAVE TWO YEARS LEFT TO GO ON THE COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT <br />PROGRAM. <br />MR. BRENNAN INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE STATE IS READY TO SPLIT <br />UP ABOUT $300,000 AMONG THE COASTAL COUNTIES, AND WE EXPECT TO RECEIVE <br />AROUND $28,000, WHICH CAN BE USED TO MAINTAIN A MAN TO WORK ON THE <br />COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM AND ON OUP COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ALIGNMENTS <br />AS WELL, <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT STATED THAT OUR RELATIONSHIP OVER THE YEARS <br />WITH THE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL HAS BEEN VERY <br />GOOD, AND WE HAVE HAD GOOD REPRESENTATION AND TAKEN AN ACTIVE PART IN <br />THEIR AFFAIRS. HE CONTINUED THAT EAST CENTRAL REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL <br />HAS NOW SEEN FIT TO HONOR INDIVIDUALS.FROM OUR COUNTY FOR THEIR <br />PARTICIPATION OVER THE YEARS. THE CHAIRMAN THEN PRESENTED PLAQUES TO <br />COUNTY PLANNER VAL BRENNAN, COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER AND COMMISSIONER Loy. <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT DISPLAYED TO THOSE PRESENT A BEAUTIFUL FRAMED RESOLUTION <br />DRAWN UP BY THE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL ACCEPTING <br />THE WITHDRAWAL OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY WITH DEEPEST REGRETS. <br />12 <br />SEP 2 2 1976 <br />Book 26 ; A,,:. 375 <br />J <br />
