RESOLUTION NO. � z <br />A RESOLUTION FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT A <br />CERTAIN STRIP OF LAND ONE HUNDRED FEET WIDE <br />RUNNING EASTWARD FROM THE INTERSECTION OF <br />INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD AND SEVENTEENTH STREET <br />TO THE WESTERLY BANK OF THE INDIAN RIVER IS NO <br />LONGER USEFUL, NECESSARY OR PROFITABLE IN THE <br />OPERATION OF THE CITY ELECTRIC SYSTEM AND <br />AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PROPER OFFICERS <br />TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER TO THE COUNTY OF INDIAN <br />RIVER AND/OR THE STATE OF FLORIDA FOR RIGHT-OF- <br />WAY PURPOSES A RIGHT-OF-WAY OR EASEMENT OVER <br />SAME TO BE USED FOR THE APPROACH TO A PROPOSED <br />BRIDGE CONNECTING SEVENTEENTH STREET WITH <br />CAUSEWAY BOULEVARD, UPON PAYMENT BY THE COUNTY <br />OF INDIAN RIVER OF THE SUM OF $403,600.00. <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida, by its Department of Transportation, <br />hereinafter "DOT," has formulated plans for -.the construction of a bridge in <br />-the City of Vero Beach, crossing the Indian River between 17th Street and <br />Causeway Boulevard; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Vero Beach, hereinafter "City," owns fee <br />simple title to a 100 foot wide strip of land running between the intersec- <br />tion of 17th Street and Indian River Boulevard and the westerly bank of the <br />Indian River, which strip of land is necessary for the westerly approach <br />to said proposed bridge; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City has heretofore constructed in said strip of <br />I <br />land, electric lines and -water and sewer lines and pipes which must be <br />relocated in order to facilitate the construction of said proposed bridge, <br />which relocation has been estimated at $403,600.00; and, <br />WHEREAS, at a meeting held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on <br />June 4, 1976, between representatives of DOT, the City and the County of <br />Indian River, hereafter "County", and DOT made it clear that if it were <br />to pay for the relocation of said facilities, said cost would be back - <br />charged to the County's secondary road fund entitlement; and, <br />WHEREAS, the parties at said meeting, units of local,:government <br />and a state agency, striving for harmony in the public interest, attempted <br />to resolve any problems which were of concern to all parties; and, <br />F <br />
