RESOLUTION NO. 2007- 084 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br /> REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA <br /> BEACH EROSION CONTROL PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County has had damage to structures and/or coastal lands by <br /> beach erosion in areas of public lands; and <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County has established a Beach Preservation Plan and a Beach <br /> Preservation Fund to provide strategy and funding for beach restoration activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Florida has established a Beach Erosion Control Program for <br /> providing financial assistance for erosion control and preservation of the beaches within the State. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br /> River County, as follows: <br /> 1. The County hereby requests State financial assistance for implementation of coastal <br /> erosion control improvements within Indian River County. <br /> 2. The County hereby designates Jonathan C. Gorham, Ph.D., Coastal Resource <br /> Manager of Indian River County, as the Project Manager and Agent on behalf of the County. <br /> THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Commissioner Bowden and <br /> seconded by Commissioner Davis and, being put to a vote was as follows: <br /> Chairman Gary C. Wheeler Aye <br /> Vice Chairman Sandra L. Bowden Ave <br /> Commissioner Wesley S. Davis Aye <br /> Commissioner Joseph E. Fleschere <br /> Commissioner Peter D. O'Bryan Aye <br /> The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted this 4th day <br /> of September , 2007. <br /> Attest: J. K.
