• <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-125 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, RESTRUCTURING THE AGRICULTURE <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />WHEREAS, agricultural operations are a major part of the economy of Indian <br />River County; and <br />WHEREAS, an important step in fostering agricultural growth in Indian River <br />County is the continuation of an advisory committee to assist the Board of County <br />Commissioners concerning agricultural matters in Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution 93-180, the Board of County Commissioners created <br />the Indian River County Agriculture Advisory Committee; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. ESTABLISHMENT. <br />The Indian River County Agriculture Advisory Committee is hereby reestablished <br />and restructured. This resolution repeals and replaces Resolution 93-180. <br />2. MEMBERSHIP. <br />The Agriculture Advisory Committee shall have seven voting members appointed by <br />the Board of County Commissioners, with one member from each of the following <br />areas: cattle, citrus, vegetable, irrigation, horticulture, and two associated <br />industries. Members must be residents of Indian River County. <br />3. TERM OF OFFICE. <br />The term of office for each member shall be two years. <br />4. POWERS AND DUTIES. <br />The Indian River County Agriculture Advisory Committee shall have the power and <br />duty to: <br />a. Consider and study the entire field of agriculture including <br />agricultural economic development with the main focus being <br />agriculture within Indian River County; <br />b. Advise the Board of County Commissioners at their request or <br />upon its own initiative regarding the promulgation, administration, <br />and enforcement of all laws, ordinances, and rules relating to <br />F:\Attorney\Bill\Dictation\Committees\agriculture adv comm reso.doc <br />
