MAIL TRAINING IN GAINESVILLE ON DECEMBER 7TH. <br />COMMISSIONER Loy INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE GOVERNMENT <br />ALLOCATES A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY TO EACH STATE EACH YEAR TO BE USED <br />IN LIEU OF POSTAGE, AND IT SEEMS THAT THIS YEAR THE STATE OF FLORIDA HAS <br />EXCEEDED THEIR BUDGETED AMOUNT. THEREFORE, THIS CONFERENCE ON PENALTY <br />MAIL TRAINING IS BEING HELD IN ORDER TO TEACH WAYS TO CUT DOWN ON.POSTAGE. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY FURTHER NOTED THAT MRS. WAKEFIELD HAS BEEN REQUESTED <br />TO TAKE HER SECRETARY TO THIS CONFERENCE, WHICH WOULD LEAVE THE OFFICE <br />UNATTENDED. MRS. WAKEFIELD HAS ASKED IF SHE COULD EITHER %.LOSE THE <br />OFFICE FOR THIS DAY OR TRY TO OBTAIN A VOLUNTEER FROM ONE OF HER GROUPS <br />TO KEEP THE OFFICE OPEN. <br />DISCUSSION CONTINUED, AND IT WAS GENERALLY FELT THE SECRETARY <br />SHOULD NOT HAVE TO ATTEND, <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE STATED THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE MRS. <br />WAKEFIELD NOT TO GO TO THIS MEETING UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY, <br />BUT FELT SHE ALONE SHOULD BE AUTHORIZED TO GO IN CASE IT IS NECESSARY, <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />Loy, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED OUT -OF -COUNTY TRAVEL FOR .JUDITH <br />WAKEFIELD, COUNTY EXTENSION DIRECTOR, TO ATTEND PENALTY MAIL TRAINING <br />IN GAINESVILLE, DECEMBER 7, 1976. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE BONDS FOR THE NEWLY <br />ELECTED COUNTY OFFICIALS NEED TO BE APPROVED AND SIGNED BY ALL MEMBERS <br />OF :THE BOARD. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER Loy, <br />THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED AND SIGNED THE BONDS OF GENE E. MORRIS, <br />TAX COLLECTOR; FREDA WRIGHT, CLERK OF CIRCUIT COURT; ROSEMARY RICHEY, <br />SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS; AND SAM T.
