M M M <br />DEC 15 <br />jr, , <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS&ONERS <br />OF INDIAN DIVER, COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7698 <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution 75 - 67 the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County pursuant to Florida <br />Statute 125.60-64 (1975) established a thirteen member <br />Charter. Commission to study and make recommendations to <br />r;. <br />the citizens of Indian River County regarding the mast <br />economical, efficient and effective form of home rule <br />government, and, <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to tndian"River County Resolution 75 - <br />67, John Tippin received appointment as one of the thirteen <br />Charter Commission members, and, <br />WHEREAS, John Tippin as a Charter Commission member con- C <br />ducted a comprehensive study of the operation of County <br />government and as -Chairman of the Road: and bridges O <br />Committee, analyzed in depth methods to improve and re- O <br />organize our local government for the benefit or all <br />citizens in Indian River County, and, .p <br />WHEREAS, after long hours of study, organization meetings <br />with Sub -Committees, assimilation of material, preparation <br />of tentative drafts, debates, and public hearings, the <br />Commission completed the final Charter Document, submitting <br />it to the Board of County Commissioners for Indian River <br />County on September.l, 19.76, and, <br />WHEREAS, although the results of the Charter Referendum were <br />unsuccessful,the citizens of Indian River County owe a <br />great debt of appreciation to John Tippin for his diligent <br />efforts and service to our community and County government. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that the <br />Board extends its appreciation and honors John Tippin on <br />behalf of•the citizens of Indian River County for his <br />contribution and diligent effort as a member of the Charter <br />Commission and Chairman of the Roads and Bridges Committee. <br />'4� <br />Cljairman,Counly Commissions, <br />1976.:. <br />1;�, -27 4.450 <br />
