FINANCE OFFICER WILLIAM JACKSON AND COUNTY AUDITOR ALFRED WEBBER <br />APPEARED TO DISCUSS RELOCATION OF THE CLERK'S OFFICE, MR, JACKSON STATED <br />THAT MRS, WRIGHT WISHES TO RELOCATE FROM UPSTAIRS IN THE ANNEX TO DOWN- <br />STAIRS AT THE SOUTH END OF THE COURTHOUSE AS SHE FEELS IT WOULD BE MORE <br />EFFICIENT TO HAVE HER COURT OFFICES CONSOLIDATED AND WOULD ELIMINATE THE <br />NEED FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO HAVE TO CLIMB STAIRS, <br />MR. WEBBER PRESENTED DETAILED DRAWINGS OUTLINING THE PROPOSED <br />RELOCAIION. <br />COMMISSIONER Loy STATED THAT, AT THE REQUEST OF COMMISSIONER <br />SIEBERT, SHE HAS GONE OVER THIS PLAN WITH MR. JACKSON AND MRS, WRIGHT <br />AND HAS TOURED THE OFFICES WITH THEM. SHE FELT THE PLAN IS A GOOD ONE <br />FOR THE REASONS STATED. SHE CONTINUED THAT TO ACCOMPLISH THIS MOVE, <br />THEY WISH TO MOVE A LOT OF OLD RECORDS TO THE BASEMENT AND MUCH OF TT <br />WILL BE MICROFILMED, COMMISSIONER Loy INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE - <br />OFFICES PRESENTLY OCCUPIED BY THE CLERK ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE ANNEX <br />WILL BE USED MAINLY BY THE FINANCE OFFICE, BUT DATA PROCESSING WILL STAY <br />WHERE :T IS, AND SHE HAS RECOMMENDED THAT NO MAJOR CHANGES BE MADE IN <br />THTS ARFA IINTTI RGrf1MMPMn ATTnMQ APC D :„ ynTn 1 RVLGJJ liVu <br />STUDY COMMITTEE. <br />ADMINISTRATOR JENN.INGS WILL SUPPLY A WORK CREW TO HELP WITH THE <br />ACTUAL MOVING WHICH IS HIS STANDARDPROCEDURE, COMMISSIONER Loy <br />REITERATED THAT IT WILL MAKE THESE FACILITIES MORE ACCESSIBLE TO THE <br />GENERAL PUBLIC, <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED IN REGARD TO STORAGE OF OLD RECORDS IN THE <br />BASEMENT AND THE NEED FOR DEHUMIDIFIERS. <br />MR, WEBBER INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE BASEMENT IS -NOT TOO DAMP, <br />BUT FELT IT MIGHT BE ADVISABLE TO HAVE DEHUMIDIFIERS IN ANY EVENT IF, <br />THEY ARE NOT TOO EXPENSIVE. <br />THE BOARD DISCUSSED DISPOSING OF SOME OF THE OLDER RECORDS AFTER <br />THEY ARE MICROFILMED, AND MR, JACKSON STATED THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />ARCHIVES HAS A PROCEDURE FOR THIS AND POSSIBLY WE COULD OBTAIN A DISPOSAL <br />ORDER. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, <br />THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE CLERK TO PROCEED WITH THE RELOCATION <br />OF HER OFFICES AS OUTLINED IN THE PLAN SUBMITTED, <br />40 <br />APR i 7i Boor 29 209 <br />
