6 <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />LOY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED OUT -OF -COUNTY TRAVEL FOR .JUDITH <br />WAKEFIELD, COUNTY EXTENSION DIRECTOR, AND SECRETARY Ta FORT PIERCE MAY 20, <br />1977, FOR TRAINING SESSION ON CHANGES IN UNIVERSITY RECORDS PROCESSING. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />LOY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED STATE WITNESS PAY ROLLS, CIRCUIT COURT, <br />SPRING TERM, 1977, IN THE AMOUNTS OF $95.80 AND $100.68. <br />THE FOLLOWING REPORTS WERE RECEIVED AND PLACED ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK: <br />COUNTY COURT DEPARTMENT, TRAFFIC VIOLATION BUREAU, MONTHLY <br />RINANCIAL KEPORT - APRI <br />PORT OF CONVICTIONS, LIRCUIT COURT, APRIL, 1977 <br />DISCUSSION ENSUED ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF FINANCE OFFICER <br />JACKSON TO ADOPT A BUDGET AMENDMENT INCREASING THE HOSPITAL - MEDICAID <br />ACCOUNT BY $18,000 FROM RESERVE FOR CONTINGENCIES AS THE BILLINGS THIS <br />YEAR ARE HIGHER THAN ANTICIPATED. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY ASKED IF THESE ARE ALL BILLS THAT HAVE BEEN <br />PAID TO HOSPITALS OUTSIDE OF THIS COUNTY, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SEBASTIAN <br />MEDICAL CENTER. <br />FINANCE OFFICER JACKSON ANSWERED THAT THESE ARE ALL BILLINGS DONE <br />BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND ARE NOT PAYMENTS TO THE INDIAN RIVER MEMORIAL <br />-HOSPITAL. HE CONTINUED THAT RULES FOR PAYMENTS TO UNWED MOTHERS AND DEPEN- <br />DENT CHILDREN APPARENTLY HAVE BEEN RELAXED, THE BILLINGS FOR JANUARY AND <br />FEBRUARY, 1977, ARE GREATLY INCREASED OVER LAST YEAR'S AVERAGE MONTHLY <br />BILLING, AND THE TREND SEEMS TO BE RAISING. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY FELT THAT THIS SITUATION WOULD BEAR MORE <br />CHECKING INTO ON THE STATE LEVEL BEFORE ANY BUDGET TRANSFER IS MADE, SHE <br />NOTED THAT WE HAVE NO CONTROL: OUR ONLY CONTROL IS TO OBJECT. <br />AFTER FURTHER DISCUSSION, THE CHAIRMAN INSTRUCTED FINANCE OFFICER <br />.JACKSON TO HOLD UP PAYMENT OF THIS BILL FOR A FEW WEEKS AND IN THE MEAN- <br />TIME DO SOME FURTHER CHECKING WITH THE STATE ON THIS SITUATION. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE ANNOUNCED THAT ITEM 20A WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM <br />TODAY'S AGENDA AS THE DATA PROCESSING STUDY COMMITTEE'S REPORT HAS NOT <br />BEEN FINALIZED. <br />MAy 1977 aoot 2u 37 <br />
