H. G. MULLE <br />AS AN EXPERT WITNESS ON RATE OF RETURN FOR UTILITY COMPANIES. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS SWORE IN CARROLL WRIGHT, 10651 N. KENDALL <br />DR NORTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF THE <br />SOUTHEAST REGION OF GENERAL WATERWORKS, INC. <br />MR. WRIGHT INFORMED THE BOARD THAT MID -FLORIDA IS NOT UNDER <br />HIS DIRECT SUPERVISION AND CONTROL, BUT IS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED BY CARL <br />OVERSTREET, WHOSE OFFICE IS IN WINTER PARK, FLORIDA. MR. WRIGHT THEN <br />DESCRIBED THE BOUNDARIES OF THE MID -FLORIDA FRANCHISE AND NOTED THAT <br />GENERAL WATERWORKS ACQUIRED MID-FLORIDA,.INC., IN 1962, HE NOTED THAT <br />MID -FLORIDA SERVICES APPROXIMATELY 1,000 WATER CUSTOMERS, AND THEY <br />KEEP ONE MAN IN THE AREA TO OVERSEE THE SYSTEM, HE STATED THAT THE <br />MANAGER FROM WINTER PARK COMES OVER TO CHECK THE SYSTEM PERIODICALLY, <br />BUT AT. UNANNOUNCED AND VARYING TIMES, THE EXISTING.FACILITY CONSISTS <br />OF 3 WELLS OF APPROXIMATELY 100' DEPTH HAVING A CAPACITY OF 634,000 G.P.D. <br />RAW WATER FROM THESE WELLS IS.PUMPED TO SOFTENING UNITS AND THE SOFTENED <br />WATER IS STORED IN AN ELEVATED TANK. MR. WRIGHT DESCRIBED THE 11 MILES <br />OF DISTRIBUTION LINES OF VARIOUS DIAMETERS, AND PRESENTED FIGURES ON THE <br />AMOUNTS OF WATER SOLD IN 1974, 1975 AND 1976, HE SPOKE OF MILLIONS <br />OF GALLONS OF WATER "UNACCOUNTED FOR, AND PRESENTED THE FOLLOWING <br />PERCENTAGES OF it UNACCOUNTED FOR" WATER: <br />1974 - 21% <br />1975 - 19,07% <br />1976 - 9.5% <br />MR. WRIGHT INFORMED THE BOARD THAT IN 1974 THEY INSTALLED. <br />NEW EQUIPMENT AT A COST OF $34,686.
