RESOLUTION NO. 2012- 066 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br /> REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA <br /> BEACH EROSION CONTROL PROGRAM - FY 2013/14 <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County has experienced damage to structures and/or coastal <br /> lands by beach erosion in areas of public lands; and <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County has established a Beach Preservation Plan and a <br /> Beach Preservation Fund to provide strategy and funding for beach restoration activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Florida has established a Beach Erosion Control Program for <br /> providing financial assistance for erosion control and preservation of the beaches within the <br /> State. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br /> Indian River County, as follows: <br /> 1. The County hereby requests State financial assistance for implementation of <br /> coastal erosion control improvements within Indian River County. <br /> 2. The County hereby designates James D. Gray, Jr., Coastal Engineer for Indian <br /> River County, as the Project Manager and Agent on behalf of the County. <br /> THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Commissioner O'Rryan and <br /> seconded by Commissioner Davis , and, being put to a vote was as follows: <br /> Chairman, Gary C.
