Jec. <br />WHEREAS this is a day in which fire go"ih of our community is in jeporady due <br />to Drug and Alcohol Abuse. <br />WHEREAS Alcoholics present a serious e► wagh problem in our cotrity !:o warrant <br />taxpayers' money to support and operate a half -way housc�.s-krictly for <br />Alcoholics. <br />WHEREAS the social drinker continues to 6e +he underlying cause c- over 50% <br />of the fatalities on our highways hot to mention the permanently <br />maimed and disabled individuals. <br />WHEREAS this community is a particularly proud, exclusive commurit`it dedicated <br />to proper plans, controls, and regulations to continue to the most <br />outstanding place to live whether you be an elder citizen or a child <br />growing rowin u . t <br />WHEREAS continuing permissiveness and liberality with regards to alcohol has <br />as its costs increased human misery, increased law enforce:.ti:, increased <br />ambulance costs, increased judicial costs, increased insurance rates <br />and liability rates, and therefore increased costs of livin,. <br />BE IT RESOLVED that any attempt to extend tate hours for tate sale of alcoholic <br />beverages is strongly opposed by the following members of the.Indian <br />River County Medical Society.
