i <br />MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 1977 <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, MET IN SPECIAL SESSION AT THE COURTHOUSE, VERO BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 1977, AT 3:00 O'CLOCK P.M. PRESENT WERE <br />WILLIAM C. WODTKE, .JR., CHAIRMAN; ALMA LEE Loy, VICE CHAIRMAN; <br />WILLARD W. SIEBERT, JR., AND R. DON DEESON. ABSENT WAS EDWIN S. <br />SCHMUCKER DUE TO ATTENDING A CITY VARIANCE BOARD MEETING, ALSO <br />PRESENT WERE GEORGE G. COLLINS, .JR., ATTORNEY TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />.COMMISSIONERS, AND VIRGINIA HARGREAVES, DEPUTY CLERK, <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AND INFORMED THOSE <br />PRESENT THAT THIS MEETING HAD BEEN INTENDED FOR DISCUSSION OF THE <br />BOARD ONLY RELATIVE TO EXTENDING THE HOURS FOR SALE OF ALCOHOLIC <br />BEVERAGES WITHIN THE COUNTY. HE CONTINUED THAT BASED UPON A PROBLEM <br />WITH THE.LEGAL NOTIFICATION OF THE PUBLIC HEARING, HE WOULD RECOMMEND <br />THAT THE BOARD NOT DISCUSS THIS MATTER OR REACH A DECISION TODAY,, <br />BUT INSTEAD AUTHORIZE OUR ATTORNEY, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ATTORNEY <br />FOR THE APPLICANT, TO READVERTISE A PUBLIC HEARING IN THIS REGARD, <br />CORRECTING THE PREVIOUS LEGAL TECHNICALITY, THE PUBLIC HEARING COULD <br />THEN BE HELD IN APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS, AT WHICH TIME THE BOARD <br />COULD HAVE THEIR DISCUSSION AND REACH A DECISION. <br />AFTER SOME DISCUSSION, THE BOARD CONCURRED WITH THE CHAIR- <br />MAN'S RECOMMENDATION AS EVERYTHING MUST BE SET UP IN ORDINANCE FORM. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />Loy, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE ATTORNEY TO ADVERTISE A <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH HOURS FOR SALE OF ALCOHOLIC <br />BEVERAGES FOR DECEMBER 20TH, AT 3:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />ATTORNEY BLOCK STATED THAT HE DID NOT FEEL THERE WILL BE ANY <br />ADDITIONAL INPUT FROM HIS SIDE AT THAT TIME. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE STATED THAT LEGALLY EVERYONE MUST BE ALLOWED <br />AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD, BUT SINCE WE ALREADY HAVE THE MINUTES OF THE <br />PREVIOUS MEETING AND A TAPE, HE WOULD HOPE THAT ADDITIONAL INPUT WOULD <br />BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM. <br />THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, ON MOTION MADE, SECONDED AND <br />CARRIED, THE BOARD ADJOURNED AT 3:15 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />ATTEST: <br />ic <br />CLERK CHAIRMAN <br />O 2 I � � aucf� �� FacF r"�o <br />
