Box 38 <br />Fellsmere, Florida 32948 <br />Jan. 6, 1978 <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Indian River County Courthouse <br />Vero Beach', Florida 32960 <br />Dear -Members of the Board of County Commissioners; <br />The members of the North Indian River County Recreation <br />Committee would like to inform you of our past progress and our <br />.future plans and needs. <br />Since the beginning of this program we have successfully <br />completed several projects which include: <br />1. The complete rebuilding of the Softball Field <br />located in the City Of Fellsmere. <br />2. The beginning of a new Little League practice <br />field in Roseland. ' <br />3. We have also begun programs to try and involve <br />the Citizens of the entire North County from age 5 to age <br />100+ in a leisure time activity. <br />•4. Ile have tried to add equipment for use in playgrounds <br />to areas which are now growing beyond their present capabilities. <br />S. We have purchased program equipment to keep up <br />-with the growth of acitvities so we may continue to offer <br />these at the same level of euality.as when we began. <br />6. For the past two years we have had a very successful <br />T -League program which has consisted on two teams and we <br />are horeful this year to have four or more teams. <br />7. We have also had our organization Incorpotated <br />as you requested. <br />In regards to our future plans this year we intend to: t <br />1. Purchase the necessary program equipment to keep <br />up with our slow but steady growth pattern. <br />2. To build a Combination Football and Soccer field <br />•in cooperation with the City of.Sebastian. <br />3.' Furnish a water supply to the Roseland Field. <br />4. Build Restroom facilities in the same location <br />as the Tennis Courts and Football/Soccer field. <br />S. To complete the area Playground equipment needs, <br />so all the parks will have the same high quality of use <br />potential. <br />The Cities of Sebastian and Fellsmere, supply'us with the use <br />° of•all their facilities, do all mainterice, pay all electric and <br />phone'bills, and supply most of the office supplies.'
