HALE INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THEIR COORDINATOR AT PRESENT <br />MAKES $6,200 PER YEAR, NOT COUNTING INSURANCE, WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION, <br />ETC. SHE ALSO TAKES MILEAGE OVER AND ABOVE THE $6,2004 MRS. HALE <br />NOTED THAT THE COORDINATOR NOW WORKS ON A HIT -AND -MISS BASIS, BUT WITH <br />AN ASSISTANT COULD COVER THE WHOLE AREA AND WOULD BE WORKING MORE THAN <br />40 HOURS A WEEK. <br />PERSONNEL DIRECTOR DONLON POINTED OUT THAT THESE POSITIONS <br />WILL BE FULL TIME POSITIONS. THE JOB AT.PRESENT IS ACTUALLY A PART-TIME <br />JOB. <br />COMMISSIONER DEESON STATED THAT HE FEELS THIS HAS BEEN AN <br />EFFECTIVE PROGRAM AND HAS DONE A LOT FOR THE AREA, BUT AGREED THAT THIS <br />1S TOO LARGE AN AREA FOR ONE PERSON TO COVER EFFECTIVELY. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER DEESON, SECONDED BY COMMIS- <br />SIONER Loy, TO USE PUBLIC WORKS FUNDS TO FUND THE SALARIES FOR A 000RDI- <br />NATOR AND AN ASSISTANT COORDINATOR FOR NORTH INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />RECREATION. <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED, AND CHAIRMAN VIODTKE STATED THAT HE WOULD <br />BE IN FAVOR OF THE MOTION PROVIDED THE INTENT IS THAT THE SALARY FIGURE <br />AS SET OUT IN MR. GRAY'S LETTER INCLUDES ALL FRINGE BENEFITS. <br />COMMISSIONER DEESON AND COMMISSIONER Loy -RESTATED THE MOTION <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />THAT THE BOARD APPROVE THE USE OF PUBLIC WORKS FUNDS TO FUND <br />THE SALARIES FOR A COORDINATOR AND AN ASSISTANT COORDINATOR FOR NORTH <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY RECREATION; THE INTENT BEING THAT THE SALARIES AS <br />SET OUT IN MR. GRAY'S LETTER OF .JANUARY 6, 1978, INCLUDE ALL FRINGE <br />BENEFITS. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. IT WAS VOTED ON AND <br />CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br />THE HOUR OF 9:30 O'CLOCK A.M.
