RESOLUTION NO. 2013- 093 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br /> CONCERNING SPECIAL ACTS OF LOCAL APPLICATION <br /> REGARDING FISHING AND FISHING GEAR AND THE <br /> FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION <br /> COMMISSION. <br /> WHEREAS , the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (the "Commission") <br /> consists of seven unelected members appointed by the Governor of the State of Florida, and confirmed <br /> by the Senate ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the unelected bureaucratic Commission has requested that the Board of County <br /> Commissioners review three special acts of local application relating to fishing regulations in Indian <br /> River County to determine whether these three special acts of local application can be repealed ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the elected members of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br /> County do not wish to provide a position on the repeal of these special acts of local application to an <br /> unelected, bureaucratic body ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the elected members of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br /> County believe that rules and regulations governing fishing regulations should be established by <br /> elected officials directly beholden to the people , <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY that : <br /> 1 . Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The Board of County <br /> Commissioners of Indian River County have unanimously refused to take a position on whether the <br /> unelected, bureaucratic Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission should repeal or not <br /> repeal three special acts of local application in Indian River County . <br /> The foregoing resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Davis , and <br /> the motion was seconded by Commissioner Solari and, upon being put to a vote, the vote <br /> was as follows : <br /> F.'Ult r ey�LindaIGENER9LVtesolutions & OrdinancesVResolutionsLSpecial Acts (FL Fish & Wildlii e)(2).docs 1 <br />
