<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board
<br />of County Commissioners of Indian River
<br />County, Florida, will hold a public hearing on
<br />February 8, 1978, at 11:00 o'clock A.M. in the
<br />County Commission Room, Indian River
<br />County Courthouse for the purpose of adopting
<br />A Landscape Ordinance which Ordinance
<br />shall provide definitions, require a landscape
<br />plan, require use of suitable plant materials,
<br />which conform to the standards of Part One
<br />which conform to grade and standards for
<br />nursery plants, Part One, 1973 and Part Two,
<br />1975, State of Florida, Department of
<br />Agriculture, provide for standards In trees,
<br />hedges, scrubs, vines, ground covers and
<br />grass, require landscaping adjacent to public
<br />right-of-ways, require perimeter landscaping,
<br />require interior coverage, provide for main-
<br />tenance, certificate of occupancy, a reverence
<br />clause and providing for an effective date.

<br />ATTORNEY COLLINS EXPLAINED THAT THE LANDSCAPE ORDINANCE WAS
<br />READVERTISED BECAUSE CHANGES WERE MADE IN IT SINCE THE LAST PUBLIC
<br />HEARING. HE THEN REVIEWED THE CHANGES MADE, POINTING OUT THAT ON THE
<br />FIRST PAGE HE PUT AN ENABLING CLAUSE; ON THE THIRD PAGE HE DEFINED A
<br />ZONING OFFICIAL;AND IN SEC.III, LANDSCAPE PLAN, MADE A CHANGE WHICH
<br />HE FEELS COVERS THE QUESTION OF AN R-2 USE WHERE NO SITE PLAN APPROVAL
<br />IS REQUIRED. THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT WOULD HAVE TO ASSURE THEMSELVES
<br />OF CONFORMITY WITH THE ZONING nRDINANCE BEFORE ISSUING THE PERMIT.
<br />ATTORNEY COLLINS CONTINUED THAT SEC. IV A. 2., TREES, HAS BEEN CHANGED
<br />TO READ: "NATURAL PALMS MAY CONSTITUTE MORE THAN THE SO% OF THE TOTAL
<br />NEW TREE REQUIREMENT WHEN SAID PALMS ARE EXISTING ON THE SITE..."
