Ll <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE IS BECOMING MORE <br />AND MORE CONCERNED ABOUT FLOOD AREA DESIGNATIONS BECAUSE THEY WILL HAVE <br />A SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT ON CONSTRUCTION COSTS, PARTICULARLY ON BEACH PROP- <br />ERTY, IN THE COUNTY. HE ESTIMATED THEY COULD RESULT IN ADDITIONAL <br />COSTS OF $6.00 TO $10.00 PER SQ. FT. ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED THAT <br />THE CITY OF VERO BEACH CONTESTED THESE DESIGNATIONS AND -HAD THEM REDUCED <br />INSIDE THE CITY LIMITS: HE FELT THE BOARD SHOULD TAKE A STAND AND <br />OPPOSE THE DESIGNATIONS. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE AND THE ADMINIS- <br />TRATOR HAVE MET WITH SURVEYORS AND ENGINEERS AND ARE WORKING ALONG <br />THESE LINES. HE CONTINUED THAT THEY HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THE LEAST <br />EXPENSIVE WAY TO WORK THIS OUT AND ARE CONSIDERING HAVING LOCAL SURVEYORS <br />USE MYLARS OF THE COASTAL CONSTRUCTION SETBACK LINES AND RUN PROFILES <br />OF LOCAL SUBDIVISIONS AND TRY TO ESTABLISH A LINE THIS WAY. HE POINTED <br />OUT THAT THEY WOULD ONLY TAKE THE AREA OF THE COASTLINE WHERE THEY FEEL <br />THE GREATEST GROWTH WILL BE AND THEN A FLIGHT COULD BE MADE OF ONLY <br />THAT PARTICULAR AREA. <br />ADMINISTRATOR .JENNINGS STATED HE WOULD ROUGHLY ESTIMATE A COST <br />OF $2,500 TO $3,000 FOR SUCH AERIALS AND HOPED TO HAVE MORE INFORMATION <br />FOR THE NEXT MEETING. <br />COMMISSIONER DEESON BROUGHT UP THE MATTER OF FILL DIRT FOR <br />THE PROPOSED FOOTBALL AND SOCCER FIELD ON SCHUMANN DRIVE IN SEBASTIAN <br />HIGHLANDS AND INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE PROPER TYPE OF TOPSOIL HAS <br />BEEN LOCATED AND WILL COST $1.50 PER CUBIC YARD AT THE PIT IF THE <br />COUNTY WILL LOAD, HAUL AND SPREAD. THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN AND NORTH <br />COUNTY RECREATION, INC., WILL PURCHASE THE MATERIAL AND THUS WE WOULD <br />BE MERELY ASSISTING ANOTHER GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY. <br />ADMINISTRATOR .JENNINGS FELT THE $1.50 PRICE MIGHT BE A BIT <br />HIGH WITH THE COUNTY DOING THE LOADING AND HAULING, AND COMMISSIONER <br />DEESON STATED HE WOULD CHECK ON THIS. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER DEESON, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />Loy, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE ADMINISTRATOR TO HAUL FILL <br />33 <br />eao� 34 5 <br />E <br />
