RESOLUTION N0.2014- o2 6 <br />WHEREAS, just as the end of law ought to be the welfare of the people, the end of <br />agencies and bureaucracies such as the FMPA ought to be to serve the people, and <br />WHEREAS, the people of the City of Vero Beach have on numerous occasions shown <br />that they wish their electric needs be provided with rates comparable to FPL, and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF, COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT: <br />1. Position of the Board. The Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners hereby reiterates its support of the sale of the City of Vero Beach's electric <br />utility by the City of Vero Beach to Florida Power & Light ("FPL"), including the $26 million <br />payment from FPL to the Florida Municipal Power Agency ("FMPA") and the additional $26 <br />million to be paid to FMPA by the present customers of the City of Vero Beach electric utility <br />over an approximately three year period. <br />2. A certified copy of this resolution shall be provided to the City and FMPA. <br />The foregoing resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Solari , and <br />motion was seconded by Commissioner F 1 e s c h e r and, upon being put to a vote, the vote <br />was, as follows: <br />Chairman Peter D. O'Bryan Aye <br />Vice Chairman Wesley S. Davis A,VLz <br />Commissioner Joseph E.
