THE BOARD DISCUSSED PROJECTS THAT MIGHT QUALIFY UNDER THE <br />TOURIST DEVELOPMENT TAX PROGRAM, AND IT WAS FELT WABASSO BEACH PARK <br />WAS THE LOGICAL ONE TO BE DEVELOPED UNDER THIS PROGRAM. <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER SUGGESTED THE POSSIBILITY OF PURCHAS— <br />ING ADDITIONAL OCEANFRONT PROPERTY TO EXPAND WABASSO BEACH PARK. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE INSTRUCTED THAT THE BOARD SUBMIT ANY IDEAS <br />FOR SUCH PROJECTS TO COMMISSIONER LOY TO DEVELOP. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE DISCUSSED WITH THE BOARD THE FOLLOWING LETTER <br />FROM J. The. <br />response from the community has been good, We feel the park <br />is going to be a great asset. However, we are sorry we <br />were unable to show more accomplishments, especially where <br />the ballfields are concerned. <br />'We were informed that funds from the second Community <br />Block Grant have been exhausted. As -o. this date we have <br />• received no information granting the approval of funds from <br />the third Community Block Grant, therefore we find it <br />necessary to ask the Board of County Commissioners to <br />approve the followings <br />2 loads of clay <br />200 ft. of 5 ft. fencing including terminals <br />and posts )(for fencing in portionsof the <br />ball fields) <br />4 yards of cement <br />Use of grader to spread clay <br />10 x 12 x 12 Backstop for practice field <br />We would arpreciate an early approval of this request <br />so that we can begin using the ball fields. Vie- have some <br />$6 boys who are anxious to get started with our baseball <br />program. <br />The county finance officer should.have a record of <br />the cost of the clay including hauling.
