WEDNESDAY, .JUNE 7, 1978 <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY•COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA,'MET IN REGULAR SESSION AT THE COURTHOUSE, VERO BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />.ON WEDNESDAY, .JUNE 7, 1978, AT 8:30 O'CLOCK A.M. PRESENT WERE <br />WILLIAM C. WODTKE, JR.; CHAIRMAN; ALMA LEE LOY, VICE CHAIRMAN; <br />WILLARD W. SIEBERT, JR.; EDWIN S. SCHMUCKER; AND R. DON DEESON, ALSO <br />PRESENT WERE .JACK G. JENNINGS, COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR; L.S."TOMMY" <br />THOMAS, INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATOR; GEORGE G. COLLINS, JR., <br />ATTORNEY TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS; JEFFREY K. BARTON, <br />FINANCE OFFICER; BAILIFF DAN FLEISHMAN; AND VIRGINIA HARGREAVES, <br />DEPUTY CLERK. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY LED THE PLEDGE OF -ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br />AND ATTORNEY COLLINS GAVE THE INVOCATION. <br />THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS <br />TO THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 24, 1978. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY REQUESTED THAT ON PAGE 231 THE SECOND <br />PARAGRAPH, BE REWORDED AS FOLLOWS: "COMMISSIONER LOY NOTED THAT <br />MR. SPYKE WILL DISCUSS THIS REQUEST WITH THE FLORIDA AGRICULTURAL <br />EXTENSION DEPARTMENT TO SECURE THEIR CONCURRENCE AS THIS IS ONE OF <br />THEIR TOP PRIORITY PROJECTS, ESPECIALLY AS IT DEALS WITH AGRICULTURE." <br />THIS CORRECTION HAVING BEEN MADE, ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER <br />LOY, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER DEESON, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED <br />THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 24, 1978, AS WRITTEN. <br />THE BOARD DISCUSSED BUDGET AMENDMENTS RECOMMENDED BY THE <br />FINANCE OFFICER AND COMMISSIONER LOY NOTED THAT WE HAVE NOW COMPLETED <br />EIGHT MONTHS UNDER THIS YEAR'S BUDGET AND FROM THIS POINT ON WILL <br />PROBABLY SEE A NUMBER OF RECOMMENDED TRANSFERS AND CHANGES IN ORDER TO <br />KEEP OPERATING ON A SOUND BASIS. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE QUESTIONED THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS TO THE <br />GENERAL FUND FOR THE LANDFILL CHARGES AND THE ADDITIONAL TRANSFER TO <br />ROAD & ERiDGE FOR LANDFILL CHARGES. <br />FINANCE OFFICER BARTON EXPLAINED THAT THE ROAD & BRIDGE <br />
