J. Schumann, Jr. who on oath <br />says that he is Business Manager of the Vero Beach Press -Journal, a weekly newspaper published <br />at Vero Beach in Indian River County, Florida; that the attached copy of advertisement, being <br />in the matter of �2/ f ��� !�� n -� A — a 16 <br />in the n ' / Court, was pub- <br />lished in said newspaper in the issues of <br />Affiant further says that the said Vero Beach Press-Joumal is a newspaper published at <br />Vero Beach, in said Indian River County, and that the said newspaper has heretofore <br />been continuously published in said Indian River County, Florida, weekly and has been entered <br />as second class mail matter at the post office in Vero Beach, in said Indian River County, Florida <br />for a period of one year next preceeding the first publication of the attached copy of adver- <br />tisement; and affiant further says that he has neither paid nor promised any person, firm or <br />r corporation any discount, rebate, commission or refund for the purpose of securing this adver- <br />tisement for publication in the said newspaper. <br />Sworn to and subscribed before me this a Of, A.D. <br />(B i ess Manager) <br />' (Clerk of the Circuit Court, In iA River County, Florida) <br />(SEAQ <br />NOTICE <br />NOTICE IS -HEREBY GIVEN that the <br />Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, Florida, will hold a public <br />hearing on July 19, 1978, at 11:30 o'clock <br />A.M. in the County Commission Chambers <br />at the Indian River County Courthouse to <br />consider the adoption of: <br />An Ordinance to levy and impose a two <br />Percent (2 percent) Tourist Development <br />Tax pursuant to the Local Option Tourist <br />Development Act recently enacted by the <br />Legislature for the State of Florida; <br />providing for the collection of said tax; <br />providing that the revenues so raised be <br />utilized to implement the Indian River <br />County Tourist Development Pian; <br />providing for the adoption of an Indian <br />River County Tourist Development Plan; <br />establishing an Indian River County Tourist <br />Development Council; providing for the <br />terms, qualifications and powers of the <br />members of said Council; providing for the :7 <br />establishment of an Indian River County <br />Tourist and Visitors Bureau; providing for <br />compliance with Chapter 77.209, Laws of <br />Florida; providing for penalties for failure <br />to collect the tax levied; providing for <br />repeal of the tax by referendum election; <br />and providing an effective date. <br />Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida <br />By: -s -William C. Wodtke Jr., <br />Chairman <br />June 28,1978. <br />CHMMAN WODTKE INFORMED THE PRESS THAT THE VACANCY ON <br />THE TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL HAS BEEN FILLED BY THE APPOINTMENT <br />OF ROBERT BRADLEY -AND THE.BOARD HAS FORMALLY ADOPTED THE BUDGET <br />PRESENTED BY THE COUNCIL, HE STATED THAT THE PURPOSE OF THIS HEARING <br />IS TO HAVE PUBLIC INPUT ON THE ORDINANCE THAT HAS BEEN DRAFTED. THIS <br />MATTER WILL THEN BE PUT ON THE SEPTEMBER 12TH BALLOT FOR APPROVAL <br />OR REJECTION BY THE TAXPAYERS OF THE COUNTY, <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS REVIEWED THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE, NOTING <br />,.. _ .... . . - - ... ... ..... . ... _.. ..... .. . . .. . <br />THAT I.T INCLUDES A BREADKOWN OF THE BUDGET AND THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF <br />THE TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL.
