UTILITIES DEPARTMENT PAYMENT POLICIES - <br />OCTOBER 2004 – HURRICANE FRANCES AND HURRICANE <br />JEANNE <br />County Administrator Joseph Baird read the proposed Utilities Department <br />Payment Policy (copy on file) stating no late fees will be assessed during the month of October and <br />no termination of service will occur before October 19, 2004. <br /> <br />Commissioner Lowther wanted the date for assessing late fees to extend to <br />November 24, 2004 to coincide with the Governor’s Executive Order #04-217. <br /> <br />There was some concern whether people would have difficulty with three months <br />of bills piling up. <br /> <br />Utility Director Eric Olsen supported the concept of matching the State’s <br />Emergency timeframe for assessing late fees as long as they would have the ability to handle <br />special arrangements on a case-by-case basis. <br /> <br />October 12, 2004 <br />22 <br /> <br />
