THE GIFFORD PROGRESSIVE CIVIC LEAGUE <br />24.20 45th Street <br />Vero Beach, Florida 32960 <br />August 20,1978 <br />To: The Board of County Commissioners <br />Indian River County <br />RE: Dumpster for The Gifford Area <br />Dear Commissioners: <br />After making a careful study on a possible site for two or more <br />dumpsters to be stationed in the Gifford area, we are making the fol- <br />lowing recommendation: <br />The Gifford Progressive Civic League is appealing to the county <br />officials to designate a small portion of the old county dump former - <br />located on South Gifford Road as the site for a dumping station. <br />By stationing the dumpsters in this area, on county property on <br />or near the old dump would adequately serve all of the Gifford area <br />without creating other problems. <br />We will appreciate you approving this request at your August 23 <br />meeting. <br />Gratef , <br />J. Ralph Lundy <br />League President <br />ADMINISTRATOR .JENNINGS STATED THIS LOCATION IS THE SITE THAT <br />WAS DESIGNATED FOR THIS PURPOSE, AND THE CHAIRMAN AGREED THAT IT IS <br />THE SITE WE HAD HOPED WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE. <br />DALE WEHR REPORTED -THAT THEY ARE MOVING ALONG RAPIDLY ON <br />THE TENNIS COURTS AT THE GIFFORD PARK AND ARE RECEIVING FULL <br />COOPERATION FROM THE COUNTY, HE STATED THAT THEY WILL BE READY FOR <br />THE LIMEROCK IN THE NEXT DAY OR SO, AND GROUPS ARE PREPARING FOR <br />FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES, MR. i'JEHR NOTED THAT AT THE PREVIOUS MEETING <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE HAD SUGGESTED PLACING TREE TRUNKS AROUND THE PERIMETER <br />OF THE TENNIS COURT AREA TO KEEP VEHICLES OFF, BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE <br />11 <br />7mm", <br />
