MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Davis, to: <br />(1) open the pool and extend the hours, by using half the <br />money that was raised; and (2) with the remaining half, <br />verify approval (in writing) and cut the donors a check. <br />There was no SECOND, and the MOTION DIED. <br />Attorney Collins acknowledged that contacting the donors who made donations <br />would take time. <br />Chairman Bowden and Vice Chairman Davis felt the verification process could be <br />accomplished in a timely manner. <br />Commissioner Wheeler wanted to give the $11, 697 to the Gifford Pool fund, and <br />take the money to operate the pool from the recreation fund. Vice Chairman Davis supported <br />Commissioner Wheeler and made a new Motion. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Davis, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Flescher, to re -open the <br />Gifford Activity Center pool under flexible hours, with the <br />proposed 5 -Point Plan, and funding coming from the <br />recreation funds. <br />Administrator Baird confirmed that the funds would come from recreation funds, <br />not contingency funds, as motioned in the October 7, 2008 Board of County Commission meeting. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and by a vote <br />of 3-2 (Commissioners O'Bryan and Wheeler opposed) the <br />Motion carried.
