PUBLIC WORKS – DUNE RESTORATION AGREEMENT <br />WITH JOHN’S ISLAND PROPERTY OWNERS <br />ASSOCIATION – FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF <br />ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION – GRANT AGREEMENT <br />H5IR1 <br /> <br />Coastal Resources Manager Jonathan C. Gorham, Ph.D. briefly reviewed the <br />memorandum of October 10, 2005 using a PowerPoint presentation (copy on file in the Office of <br />the Clerk to the Board). He advised that this agreement was presented yesterday to the Beach and <br />Shore Committee and they voted 5-3 to recommend approval of this project. <br />Discussion ensued and clarifications were given. <br /> <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Davis, <br />SECONDED by Vice Chairman Neuberger, to approve <br />staff’s recommendation. <br /> <br />In response to Commissioner Bowden, Dr. Gorham advised that the south beach <br />dune restoration project will be going out for bid soon and he would supply more details to the <br />Board. <br /> <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried unanimously. (The Board authorized staff to <br />negotiate an Agreement with JIPOA, as recommended in <br />the memorandum of October 10, 2005. <br /> <br />October 18, 2005 15 <br /> <br />
