COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT HE HAS RECEIVED A REQUEST, <br />AS CHAIRMAN OF THE PROPERTY APPRAISAL ADJUSTMENT BOARD, THAT THE <br />TWO MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD BE COMPENSATED ON A PER DIEM BASIS <br />FOR SITTING ON THAT BOARD. HE STATED THAT HE DOES NOT FEEL THIS <br />REQUEST IS OUT OF LINE BECAUSE OF THE TIME THEY PUT IN ON IT, BUT <br />HE WOULD LIKE SOME DISCUSSION ON THE MATTER, HE NOTED THAT THE SCHOOL <br />BOARD MEMBERS ARE PAID ONLY $300 A MONTH, AND THEY SPENT A GREAT DEAL <br />OF TIME ON THE PROPERTY APPRAISAL ADJUSTMENT BOARD. HE FURTHER NOTED <br />THAT IF WE AGREE ON THIS, THE COSTS ARE SPLIT BETWEEN THE COUNTY AND <br />THE SCHOOL BOARD-- 3/5 TO 2/5, <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED THAT HIS FEELING IS THAT THE <br />COMMISSIONERS PUT IN AS MUCH TIME AS THE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, <br />AND HE FELT THE COMPENSATION SHOULD BE UNIFORM, THIS WAS A <br />COMPLETELY OVERTIME SITUATION AND WENT LATE AT.NIGHT MANY TIMES. <br />HE SAW NO REASON WHY COMPENSATION SHOULD NOT BE PROVIDED, AND NOTED <br />THAT THE STATE HAS GUIDELINES AS TO THE COMPENSATION AVAILABLE, <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT THAT THE MEMBERS <br />OF THE PROPERTY APPRAISAL ADJUSTMENT BOARD BE COMPENSATED AS <br />PROVIDED BY LAW, HE STATED THAT HE WOULD GIVE HIS COMPENSATION TO <br />THE fly," <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER NOTED THAT IF SERVING ON THIS BOARD <br />CONTINUES TO BE AS INVOLVED AND AS LENGTHY AS IT WAS THIS TIME, IT <br />WILL BE DIFFICULT TO GET PEOPLE TO SERVE. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY FELT BOTH AREAS SHOULD BE COMPENSATED. 9 <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE STATED THAT BEFORE HE COULD VOTE FOR THE <br />MOTION, HE WOULD WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE COMPENSATION WOULD BE, <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT SINCE THE MOTION HAD NOT <br />RECEIVED A SECOND, HE WOULD WITHDRAW IT UNTIL HE CAN RESEARCH THIS <br />FURTHER WITH THE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, <br />THE BOARD THEN DISCUSSED THE LARGE AMOUNT OF TIME SPENT ON 1 <br />PROPERTY APPRAISAL ADJUSTMENT BOARD MATTERS BY THE ATTORNEY, AND. <br />COMMISSIONER Loy COMMENTED THAT THIS JOB WENT WAY BEYOND WHAT IS <br />�a <br />COVERED IN THE ATTORNEY'S REGULAR DUTIES.
