PLANNING DIRECTOR REDICK INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THIS <br />PROPERTY IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND THERE IS SOME <br />COMMERCIAL ZONING BETWEEN IT AND THE ROAD. BASICALLY THE PLANNING <br />& ZONING COMMISSION DID APPROVE THIS. MR. REDICK FELT THAT IT IS <br />A NORMAL OCCURRENCE IN AN AREA WHERE YOU PUT IN A SCHOOL TO HAVE <br />RESIDENTIAL COME IN AROUND IT. HE NOTED THAT THE LOTS WOULD BE <br />LARGE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AN R-ZA ZONING. <br />THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF ANYONE IN THE AUDIENCE WISHED TO <br />BE HEARD. THERE WERE NONE, <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER DEESON, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SCHMUCKER, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY CLOSED THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SIEBERT, TO ADOPT ORDINANCE No. 78-26 GRANTING THE REZONING TO R -IA <br />AS REQUESTED BY GULF & WESTERN COMPANY. <br />-r <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT FELT'IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THIS IS <br />NOT IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, <br />CHAIRMANV WODTKE STATED THAT THE STAFF HAS MADEA <br />RECOMMENDATION THAT THIS BE INCLUDED IN THE HEARING TO BE HELD IN <br />REGARD TO CHANGES IN THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
