ASSISTANT ADMTNISTRATOR NELSON REPORTED TO THE BOARD ON THE <br />RENOVATION OF THE INDIAN RIVER SHORES WASTEWATER SYSTEM, WHICH THE <br />COUNTY HAS TAKEN OVER SINCE TREASURE COAST UTILITIES DEFAULTED ON <br />THEIR AGREEMENT. HE STATED THAT HE MADE AN INSPECTION OF THE SYSTEM <br />ACCOMPANIED BY ENGINEER BEINDORF AND THERE WERE ACTUALLY TWO SITUATIONS <br />WHERE RAW SEWAGE WAS COMING UP OUT OF THE MANHOLES. MR. NELSON'S <br />REPORT IS SET OUT IN THE FOLLOWING MEMORANDUM: <br />MEMORMIDUM <br />TO: Neil Nelson DATE: August 31, 1978 <br />FROM George Morgan <br />RE: Inspection and Renovation of Indian River <br />Shores Wastewater System. <br />After a study of the original plans furnished to me by <br />Lloyd Engineers, I inspected the entire system. My --findings were <br />as follows: The sewer plant chlorinator is inoperable; the ejector <br />is missing. At Pebble Bay lift station #1'the original plans called <br />for a control panel; there is no control panel. At Pebble Bay lift <br />station #2 the present controlsare inadequate and non-functional. <br />The submersible pump,,�.t Pebbly Bay #2 has to be replaced. The second <br />pump and motor located at Indian Summer is missing and has to be re- <br />placed. The entire system has to be electrically checked out and <br />restored to safe and efficient condition. <br />After consulting with various companies, my selections according <br />to price and quality for the equipment needed are as follows: <br />2 simplex control panels for the Pebble Bay #1 and <br />#2 lift stations will be purchased from Blakenship <br />Assoc., Altamonte Springs, Fla. for $430 each. <br />1 model 480 chlorinator and ejector to be used for the <br />wastewater plant; to be purchased from Blakenship Assoc., <br />Altamonte Springs, Fla. for $710. Supportive maintenance <br />services to be contracted with,B & W Electric, Inc., Vero <br />Beach, for $874. <br />1.3I1P, 3 phase motor and 1 Gorman -Rupp trash pump for the <br />Indian Summer lift station to be purchased from Blakenship <br />Assoc., Altamonte Springs, Fla. for $1149. <br />1 submersible pump for the Pebble Bay #2 lift station to <br />be purchased from Barney's Pumps, Inc., Lakeland, Fla. for <br />$404. <br />Total Purchase Price: <br />GM/ss <br />SES' 061978 <br />L <br />7p <br />$3,997.00 <br />800A <br />U17 <br />
