Staff's recommendations for new Policies and Policy Changes are to refine <br />the target industry list, facilitate the development of large lot business/technology parks, <br />and increase the County's average annual wage target to be more consistent with the <br />State's. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan, on the idea of a research coast, liked the idea of <br />having a biotech zoning; believed it gives credibility and could be used for marketing; <br />and was something to consider. <br />Director Keating, in response to Commissioner O'Bryan's inquiry, said one <br />of the proposed policy initiatives in this Element was to address the allowance of taller <br />and bigger buildings, so at this point it was not specific and delineated; it would be <br />"flushed out" next year when the Comprehensive Plan is amended. <br />There was no public input. <br />4. WRAP UP AND DIRECTION TO STAFF <br />Director Keating, in conclusion, announced that it would not be necessary <br />to have the second Workshop that was scheduled for Thursday, because all the Elements <br />were covered at this Session. He noted that staff has to have this Report delivered to the <br />Department of Community Affairs by December 1, 2008, and consequently staff has <br />scheduled the EAR Adoption Hearing to be held at the Board's regular Meeting of <br />November 18, 2008. <br />20 <br />October 20, 2008 <br />Public Workshop <br />
