Commissioner O'Bryan pointed out that the State Legislature passed an <br />Energy Bill that requires, in the future, that any County buildings whose architectural plans are <br />commenced after July 1, 2008 have to be built to "green" standards. <br />Judy Orcutt, concluding the presentation, recognized other green <br />Initiatives/Programs in the County: Habitat for Humanity, the School District, the Environmental <br />Learning Center, Kimley-Horn and Associates, The Mandela Group, and the Chamber of <br />Commerce. She highlighted the levels of certification that could be met and noted that the <br />County has achieved a 53% on the checklist and has attained the "Gold Certification" level. She <br />thanked County Commissioners and Administrator Baird for their support of the Green Building <br />Coalition. <br />Himanshu Mehta requested Board approval to submit the final application. <br />E.
