B. CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION TO INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT <br />Commissioner O'Bryan read and presented the Proclamation to Recreation Director <br />Cliff Crawford. Also on hand to receive the Certificate were Assistant Director of Recreation <br />Mike Redstone, Aquatics Supervisor Fawna Hattrup, Scott Seeley of Special Events, and North <br />County Pool Manager David Smith. <br />Director Crawford announced that the Recreation Department would be hosting the <br />Special Olympics event again next year. <br />C. PRESENTATION BY VICTORIA PEET WILLIAMS, CONSUMER <br />OUTREACH COORDINATOR, FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL <br />SERVICES ON THE MY SAFE FLORIDA HOME PROGRAM <br />Victoria Peet Williams, Consumer Outreach Coordinator, Florida Department of <br />Financial Services, wanted to increase awareness of a very beneficial program to the community, <br />"My Safe Florida Home Program". She disclosed that said program is the process by which one <br />could obtain a free wind/storm inspection by the State of Florida on a single-family site -built <br />home. She provided statistics showing the number of people in the County this program has <br />served, and the percentages in decreased insurance being enjoyed by those participants. She <br />explained how one could go about getting a free inspection and be eligible for a free grant to effect <br />improvements to his/her home.
