14.A.3. PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT FORD TYPE III AMBULANCE - <br />WHEELED COACH INDUSTRIES, INC. <br /> <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Davis, the Board unanimously approved purchase of a <br />replacement Ford E450 Type III Super Duty modular ambulance from <br />Wheeled Coach Industries, Inc., for $96,999, as recommended in the <br />memorandum dated January 10, 2005. <br /> <br />14.A.4. ACCEPTANCE OF ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT <br />FUNDING AND APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES <br /> <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Neuberger, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, to approve staff’s recommendation. <br /> <br /> Emergency Services Director John King responded to questions concerning the thermal <br />imagers and clarified that they are useful to identify humans or animals through smoke and not <br />fire. <br /> <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion carried <br />unanimously. (The Board unanimously approved acceptance of funding <br />provided by the Assistance to Firefighter Grant and approved the use of <br />District reserve funds in the amount of $6,123 to purchase two (2) <br />thermal imagers, as recommended in the memorandum dated January 11, <br />2005.) <br /> <br /> <br />January 18, 2005 <br />3 <br />E.S.D. <br /> <br />
