a <br />L <br />COMMERCIAL AREA WAS LARGER ON THE ORIGINAL RECOMMENDATION AND HE THEN <br />COMPARED THE DIFFERENT PLANS PROPOSED AT VARIOUS TIMES - THE ORIGINAL <br />PROPOSAL, THE SCHLITT PROPOSAL, AND THE ALTERNATIVE PROPOSAL NOW BEING <br />CONSIDERED, WHICH REDUCED COMMERCIAL AND EXPANDED MEDIUM DENSITY. <br />r COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER STATED HIS PROBLEM WITH THE COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLAN HAS ALWAYS BEEN TRYING TO INTERPRET A CIRCLE OR A BLOB ON A MAP, <br />WHICH HE FELT COULD MAKE A MILLIONAIRE OUT OF ONE AND NOTHING OUT OF <br />ANOTHER AND IS UNFAIR TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS, <br />MR. WARD NOTED THAT ROSELAND PROPERTY OWNERS ARE CONCERNED <br />ABOUT LIMITING THE AMOUNT OF COMMERCIAL ACREAGE BUT ARE NOT GREATLY <br />CONCERNED ABOUT THE LOCATION OF IT. <br />ALMA LEE LOY ASKED MR. SCHLITT WHAT HIS PROPERTY IS ZONED <br />AT THIS MOMENT. <br />MR. SCHLITT SAID THAT THEY HAVE COMMERCIAL ZONING FROM THE <br />LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN TO SHADY REST MOBILE HOME PARK AND <br />GOING BACK TO WAUREGAN. THE MASTER PLAN CALLED FOR ELIMINATION OF <br />PART OF THIS, AND THE MOST RECENT PLAN WOULD CUT THEM OUT ALTOGETHER. <br />HE NOTED THAT THEY HAVE TRIED TO COME UP WITH DIFFERENT USES FOR THIS <br />PROPERTY BUT OTHER THAN THE MOBILE HOME TYPE USE,. HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW <br />IT CAN BE DEVELOPED. HE NOTED THAT THEY BOUGHT IT ON THE BASIS THAT <br />IT WOULD BE DEVELOPED COMMERCIALLY AND ARE REALLY TRYING TO HONOR THEIR <br />POSITION WITH MRS. HANSEN, AND, AT THE SAME TIME, DEVELOP THE PROPERTY <br />IN THE WAY THAT WOULD BE BEST FOR THE NORTH PART OF THE COUNTY. <br />MR. YODER AGAIN CAME BEFORE THE BOARD TO PROTEST THE CHANGE <br />IN ZONING. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />Loy, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY CLOSED THE PORTION OF THE PUBLIC HEARING <br />RELATING TO ITEM #S. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS INFORMED THOSE PRESENT THAT THE PART OF THE <br />ORDINANCE BEING AMENDED IS THE MAP. THE MAP IS. MADE UP QF MORE THAN <br />ONE PART. HE NOTED THAT THE ADVERTISEMENT, AS PLACED IN THE PAPER AND <br />PRESENTED TO THE PUBLIC, GIVES THIS BOARD THE OPPORTUNITY TO AMEND IN <br />PART OR IN WHOLE, OR TO REJECT IN PART OR SIN WHOLE, AND HE FELT THE BOARD <br />HAS A GREAT DEAL OF DISCRETION IN THIS MATTER. <br />31 <br />1 <br />OCT 2619cx447 <br />
