Discussion ensued on topics such as whether FEMA would be paying for lost fees; <br />how lost revenues would be paid; additional staff for the Building Department and problems of <br />space and recruitment of new inspectors with the necessary qualifications. <br />Commissioner Wheeler thought if private providers would save Indian River <br />County money and improve the process then he wanted more information including where the <br />liability would lie. <br />County Attorney Collins specified the liability would be the contractor’s not the <br />County’s.
