® <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER DEESON, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />$CHMUCKER, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE ABOVE BIDS BEING REFERRED <br />TO THE ADMINISTRATOR FOR EVALUATION. <br />ADMINISTRATOR .JENNINGS INFORMED THE BOARD THAT IT WAS MADE <br />EXPLICIT THAT THE RADIOS DO NOT GO WITH THE CARS. HE NOTED THEY WOULD <br />BE OF NO VALUE EXCEPT TO ANYONE ON THAT PARTICULAR FREQUENCY, AND STATED <br />THAT ON THE NOTICE TO'THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER, THIS WOULD BE RECONFIRMED. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE THEN READ ALOUD RESOLUTION No. 78-85, AND <br />PRESENTED IT TO COMMISSIONER $CHMUCKER, HONORING HIM FOR HIS SERVICE ON <br />THE -BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. $AID RESOLUTION WAS APPROVED AT <br />THE MEETING OF NOVEMBER IST AND IS A PART OF THE MINUTES OF THAT MEETING. <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR ED REGAN PRESENTED COMMISSIONER <br />$CHMUCKER WITH A RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE, AS FOLLOWS: <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Community Development Advisory <br />Committee wishes to make known its appreciation of the efforts <br />of its retiring chairman, Edwin S. Schmucker. <br />The.committee was particularly pleased that a member of <br />the Board of County Commissioners and a man of his caliber held <br />this post. <br />He has helped to improve the quality of life for low and <br />moderate income families throughout Indian.River. <br />Between Oslo, Gifford and Wabasso, alone, he has been <br />instrumental in paving 5.7 miles of road, extensive drainage, <br />contributed to Indian River County Utilities, street lighting, <br />West Wabasso Park and the North Gifford Park, the demolition of <br />dilapidated structures, the rehabilitation of homes and encouraged <br />housing. These were the physical things. <br />His real contribution is in the area of the human spirit. <br />He looks not only to filling physical need but gives <br />consideration to human.aspirations. He accomplishe's in a soft <br />voice and a smile of encouragement what sometimes seems almost <br />irresolvable. <br />18 <br />NOV 1 51978 <br />
