D <br />THE FIRST HAZARDOUS STRUCTURE TO BE REVIEWED WAS ONE OWNED <br />BY ROOSEVELT BANKS AND CARRIE COPELAND. BUILDING DIRECTOR RYMER STATED <br />THAT THIS HOUSE HAS BEEN VACANT A LONG TIME. THE FIRST NOTICE WAS SENT <br />JULY 6, 1977 AND THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY REPLY. SHE NOTED THIS WAS <br />REINSPECTED IN JUNE OF 1978; AND IT WAS SUCH A DANGEROUS SITUATION, SHE <br />HAD THE POWER CUT AT THAT TIME. SHE PRESENTED A PHOTO OF THE STRUCTURE. <br />ZONING DIRECTOR WALKER INFORMED THE BOARD THAT MR. BANKS <br />HAS INFORMED HIM THAT THE STRUCTURE DOES NOT BELONG TO HIM, BUT TO A <br />MR. JORDAN. A NOTICE HAS SINCE BEEN SENT TO MR. JORDAN ASKING HIM TO <br />APPEAR TODAY. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED THAT WE NEED TO SEE A COPY OF THE <br />NOTICE SENT TO MR. JORDAN BEFORE WE CAN PROCEED, AND ASKED THAT THIS BE <br />DEFERRED UNTIL MR. WALKER CAN SUPPLY THE NOTICE. <br />THE NEXT STRUCTURE TO BE DISCUSSED WAS THAT OWNED BY ELLIS <br />BARDEN. MRS. RYMER STATED THAT THEY MADE THEIR LAST INSPECTION IN <br />JULY OF 1978 AND HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING FROM MR. BARDEN. <br />RIVERS ANDERSON, REALTOR, INFORMED THE BOARD THAT MR, BARDEN <br />HAS A VERY LIMITED EDUCATION AND HE IS, THEREFORE, APPEARING IN MR. <br />BARDEN'S BEHALF. HE NOTED THAT MR. BARDEN DOES NOT OBJECT TO THE <br />STRUCTURE BEING DEMOLISHED, BUT WANTS IT DONE AS CHEAPLY AS POSSIBLE. <br />HE INQUIRED ABOUT THE PROCEDURE THAT IS FOLLOWED. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS INFORMED HIM THAT THE ADMINISTRATOR CAN HAVE <br />THE COUNTY CREWS DO THIS OR IT CAN BE BID OUT. THE ATTORNEY FELT THAT <br />THE COUNTY COULD PROBABLY DO THIS CHEAPER, AND THERE WOULD BE AN ADVAN- <br />TAGE IN THAT THE MONIES WOULD BE DEFERRED. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR AGREED THAT HE WILL DISCUSS THIS WITH MR. <br />ANDERSON AND NOTED THAT THE ONLY CHARGE IS THE ACTUAL COST OF LABOR FOR <br />TEARING THE STRUCTURE DOWN AND CLEARING IT UP. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />LOY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE ADMINISTRATOR TO PROCEED TO <br />ABATE'THE NUISANCE AND DEMOLISH THE HAZARDOUS STRUCTURE OWNED BY ELLIS <br />BARDEN, LOCATED ON THE NORTH 1/2 OF THE EAST 3.5 ACRES OF TRACT 2, LESS <br />SOUTH 392.33', 28-32-39, 01-0020-001.0. <br />29 <br />wis fi,X70 <br />
