CONSIDERATION OF SCHOOL CONCURRENCY <br />CONSULTANT SELECTION COMMITTEE <br />RECOMMENDATION – KIMLEY-HORN AND ASSOCIATES, <br />INC. - DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS – <br />FLORIDA LEGISLATURE 2005 GROWTH MANAGEMENT <br />LAW (SB360) <br />Community Development Director Keating said this item relates to the school <br />concurrency pilot program (Item 11.A.1.) and it has a completion date of June 30, 2006. Based on <br />the tight timeframe they asked the Board’s approval to authorize staff to negotiate a contract with <br />Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., the top ranked firm by the Consultant Selection Committee. <br /> <br />There was a brief discussion regarding joining with other counties to hire one <br />consultant. <br /> <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowden, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Davis, the Board unanimously approved <br />negotiating a contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates, <br />Inc., the number one ranked firm; authorized the Chairman <br />to execute a school concurrency consultant contract if staff <br />negotiates a school concurrency consultant contract that is <br />less than the amount provided to the County through the <br />State funded subgrant agreement with the Florida <br />Department of Community Affairs; and authorized the <br />Community Development Director to sign any subsequent <br />forms/items as needed, and recommended in the <br />memorandum of November 8, 2005. <br />November 15, 2005 23 <br /> <br />
