COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR'S MATTERS <br />H.A. CHILDCARE RESOURCES OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY USE OF FAIR <br />GROUNDS EXPO CENTER <br />County Administrator Joseph Baird explained that the County had waived fees for <br />several other venues, but due to operating expenses, the loss of revenue could become <br />problematic. He reported that the fees had previously generated about $100,000 of income, and <br />noted that the fee for a non-profit organization is $525 a day, and $775 for a profit organization. <br />Administrator Baird believed it was in the County's best interest to limit the fee waivers, and <br />asked for Board direction. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Wheeler, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Solari, to DENY <br />Childcare Resources of Indian River County's request to <br />waive the fees for the inaugural Touch -a -Truck Family <br />Festival Fundraising event on March 28, 2009 at the <br />Fairground Expo Center. <br />Commissioner Wheeler acknowledged the importance of the non-profit agencies; <br />noted that Childcare Resources receives some funding from the County; and discussed the need <br />to defray operating expenses. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the <br />Motion carried unanimously.
