Unit to include the <br />unincorporated portions of Indian River <br />County: authorizing the levy by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, of a tax not to exceed three <br />(3) mills on all the real and tangible property <br />within said Taxing Unit; providing for the <br />adoption of a budget and assessment, levy and <br />collection of such taxes within said Taxing <br />Unit; providing for interlocal agreements with <br />municipalities; and providing, an effective <br />date. <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, Florida <br />BY: -s-William C. TWO COMMITTEES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED — <br />ONE FOR THE SOUTH COUNTY AND ONE FOR THE NORTH COUNTY. HE NOTED THAT <br />IT WOULD REQUIRE A REFERENDUM VOTE TO ESTABLISH DISTRICTS FOR THESE AREAS. <br />AS A TOOL TO LOOK TO THE FUTURE AND TO MEET THE FIRE PROTECTIONS NEEDS <br />OF OUR COUNTY, THE BOARD HAS AUTHORIZED THE PREPARATION -OF AFIRE PRO— <br />TECTION MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING UNIT FOR THE -ENTIRE UNINCORPORATED AREA <br />OF THE COUNTY, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING, THAT THE BOUNDARIES OF THIS <br />DISTRICT CAN BE AMENDED AS THE NEEDS ARISE IN THE FUTURE.
