The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION, and the <br />Motion carried unanimously. The Board approved: (1) <br />the Bid Award to HD Waterworks and Ferguson <br />Waterworks as the two lowest and most responsive <br />bidders meeting the specifications as set forth in the <br />Invitation to Bid. The dual award gives the Utilities <br />Department the ability to take advantage of the best prices <br />for each item specified. At the time of order, when exact <br />items and quantity are known, the lowest cost and <br />availability will be used to determine vendor; (2) <br />authorized the Purchasing Division to issue blanket <br />purchase orders for the period of October 1, 2009 through <br />September 30, 2010 with the recommended bidders; and <br />(3) authorized the Purchasing Manager to renew this bid <br />for three (3) additional one (1) year periods subject to <br />satisfactory performance, vendor acceptance, and the <br />determination that renewal of this annual bid is in the best <br />interest of Indian River County, all as stated and <br />recommended in the memorandum of October 16, 2009. <br />13. COUNTY ATTORNEY MATTERS <br />13.A. PURCHASE OF CUMBERLAND FARMS SITE FOR THE OSLO ROAD <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND THE 27THAVENUEIMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />Deputy County Attorney Bill DeBraal provided background information on this request <br />for acquisition of two parcels required for right-of-way and a stormwater retention pond for the <br />Oslo Road and the 27th Avenue Improvement Projects, respectively.
