A G R E E M E N T <br />THIS AGREEMENT, Made the ��� day of 1979 <br />by and between GEORGE G. COLLINS, JR., her nafter referred <br />to as "ATTORNEY"; and INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, a political <br />subdivision of the State of Florida, hereinafter referred to <br />as "COUNTY", their heirs, successors and assigns. <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of this Agreement to satisfy <br />certain Auditor objections that have been raised in prior <br />Audits by the State Auditor's Office.; and <br />WHEREAS, it is further the intent of this Agreement to <br />enter into a one-year Contract between COUNTY and ATTORNEY <br />for legal services that will be provided to COUNTY; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of mutual promises <br />and other monies in hand paid, the parties agree as follows: <br />1. COUNTY hereby employs ATTORNEY for a period of one (1) <br />year or such additional extensions as shall be granted for <br />the purposes of providing legal services to COUNTY during the <br />term of this Agreement. ATTORNEY hereby accepts employment <br />as an Independent Contractor with COUNTY pursuant to the <br />terms as stated below. <br />2. COUNTY shall pay to ATTORNEY a retainer of THIRTY <br />NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED THIRTY TWO DOLLARS ($39,932.00), <br />payable in equal monthly installments. ATTORNEY agrees, as <br />consideration for the retainer, to perform the customary. <br />and necessary legal services on behalf of COUNTY which <br />ATTORNEY has performed in the past, or such other necessary <br />services as requested by COUNTY during the'period of this <br />Agreement. <br />3.
