Proposed Solution <br />With the purchase of new more sophisticated commuu.cations <br />equipment for the EMT's in the field and the hospital Emergency <br />Rooms, we will, be able to insure communications while enroute <br />from the scene of an accident or other emergency. This will <br />give the patient -victim a better chance of survival. <br />With new and better equipment we will be ]getter able to handle <br />a disaster. <br />This will be accomplished through the purchase of the following <br />equipment: <br />1 UHF Base/Repeater Station, 2 charnel transmit, 3 channel <br />receive. <br />1 UHF Base/Repeater Station, 3 channel transmit and receive. <br />1 Master remote control unit and switching module. <br />1 Combiner. <br />2 Slave remote control units. <br />6. Ufa' Vehicular repeaters, 10 channel transmit and receive. <br />6 EMT UHF Portable radios, 4 channel transmit and receive. <br />3. Objectives <br />A. To increase our transmission capability to 90% time and place <br />probability for the entire county. <br />To replace an obsolete VHF commmi.cations system with more <br />sophisticated equipment which will provide the capability <br />to handle similtaneous emergencies and provide for adequate <br />control during a disaster. <br />To provide the foundation for the addition of Advanced Life <br />Support Systems. <br />The system will provide EMS communications for a population <br />of 50,000. <br />4. Evaluation <br />Evaluation of this project will be performed through the collection <br />and analysis of EMS data provided by the system users. Evaluation <br />will be performed to determine the degree of accomplishment of the <br />objectives stated in paragraph 3 above.
