Ordinance because they were already approved. <br />Russell Herman, 586 Ridgewood Court, Sebastian, representing the Friends of St. <br />Sebastian River, urged the Board to impose the moratorium on sand and rock mining for six <br />months. <br />Sharon Cowan objected to the exemption and called it unconscionable. She <br />implored the Board not to make such exemptions. <br />Suzon Franzke, 8190 37th Street, saw the moratorium as directly related to sand and <br />rock mines, and voiced her objection to such mines. <br />There were no other speakers the Chairman closed the public hearing. <br />Chairman Bowden reminded the Board of the decisions to be made: (1) whether <br />they needed to make changes to any part of the ordinance prior to the second public hearing, and <br />(2) if they desired to have a second public hearing to set a date and time for said hearing. <br />Board members contemplated the appropriate date and time to schedule the second <br />public hearing, and whether to effect changes to the Ordinance. The following decision was <br />subsequently made: <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously approved <br />to schedule the second Public Hearing pertaining to the <br />mining moratorium for Monday, January 7, 2008 at 7:00 <br />pm., in the Commission Chambers. <br />26 <br />December 18, 2007 <br />
