He stated there is a building permit which was the <br />first step. <br />Mrs. Grimes <br /> added that the owner wanted to put the house on 10’ stilts and she <br />asked the Board to consider how it would look in a neighborhood with no others like that. She <br />stated the owner is going to rent the house and asked how much they thought he would put in its <br />reconstruction. She wondered if there was enough money in the house to pay his expenses for <br />moving and rehabilitation. <br />Commissioner Davis advised of homes that have been moved that look nice and also <br />mentioned the liability of impact fees. <br />There was further discussion and the Board was advised that the owner will have <br />one year from date it was moved to have it completely rehabilitated to code and if not Code <br />Enforcement action could be initiated. <br />Director Keating noted that the owner needed to make progress within 6-8 weeks or <br />the County will initiate the code enforcement process unless our attorney says differently. <br />Chairman Lowther stated his appreciation to Mrs. Grimes for bringing this <br />information to him last night. <br />December 6, 2005 44 <br /> <br />
