Director Keating pointed out that the slopes for littoral zones were different than <br />the slopes for a mine, and that once mining activities are concluded, the littoral zone slopes are at <br />a 10-1 ratio. <br />zone. <br />Mr. Schulke offered technical suggestions for creation of setbacks in the littoral <br />Commissioner O'Bryan asked whether a new owner (other than the mine owner) <br />could be required to do the necessary site work relating to the littoral zone requirements. <br />Director Keating explained that the littoral zone requirements in Chapter 934 are <br />currently associated with creating a water body, and that even though the requirements have been <br />put back into the Landscape Ordinance; the requirements go into effect when the water body is <br />created. <br />A brief discussion ensued regarding the most appropriate timing for the installation <br />of the littoral zones. <br />Director Boling next directed the Board's attention to Section #4(3) Groundwater <br />and Environmental Protection (page 96), and completed review of Items (a) through (c).
