ON MOTION by Commissioner Flescher, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Davis, by a 4-0 vote (Vice Chairman Solari <br />absent), the Board approved the Minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting of September 22, 2009 as written. <br />15.B.2. REQUEST TO USE THE GENERAL FUND TO COVER LANDFILL DISPOSAL FEES <br />FOR PACE PROJECTS AND OTHER ILLEGAL DUHPING PROJECTS FOR FISCAL <br />YEAR 2009 /2010 <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Davis, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Flescher, to approve staff's <br />recommendation. <br />Himanshu Mehta, Managing Director Solid Waste Disposal District, informed the Board <br />that since the landfill disposal fees cannot be waived, staff is requesting the use of the General <br />Contingency funds to cover the clean up costs associated with the PACE (Protocol for Assessing <br />Community Excellence) Program's demolition of abandoned homes. <br />Julianne Price, PACE Coordinator, thanked the Commissioners for supporting the <br />PACE Program, and talked about the importance to the community of removing abandoned <br />homes. She reported that since April 2009, ten such homes had been demolished with the <br />assistance of this allocation. <br />County Administrator Joseph Baird addressed a question from Bob Johnson, Coral Wind <br />Subdivision, regarding moving funds from the General Fund to another Taxing District, and also <br />provided details on the payment process in response to Commissioner O'Bryan's query. <br />2 <br />December 8, 2009 <br />S.W.D.D. <br />
