Assistant County Attorney Marian Fell recapped the backup memorandum dated January <br />30, 2008, and clarified that the change will protect the customers because they will no longer be <br />required to provide their social security numbers, and that it will allow the County to comply with <br />the new State law regarding the collection of social security numbers. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing. There were no speakers, and the Chairman <br />closed the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Ordinance 2008-004, amending Section 201.08.1-1 of the <br />County's County Water and Sewer Services Ordinance to <br />remove the requirement to pay interest on water and sewer <br />deposits; providing for severability; providing for repeal of <br />other conflicting ordinances; providing for inclusion in the <br />code of ordinances of Indian River County; providing for <br />filing with the Department of State; and providing for an <br />effective date. <br />9.A.5.
